Tower Buttress

  • 30 - Smoker`s Satisfaction

    Follow grassy ledges to gain the crack and a ledge above. A platform leads to a crack on the left and a loose finish.

  • 31 - Piecer

    Grade: | First Ascent: -1980
    Rating: 0

    Climb cracks two metres to the left of Smoker`s Satisfaction, until a corner above leads to a ledge before a scramble right leads to the finish as above.

  • 32 - Reiver

    Rating: 0

    Two grooves three metres to the right of Smoker`s Satisfaction lead to rightward-leading steps and a short crack leading to a ledge. Just right of the arĂȘte is a hidden chimney which provides a finish.

  • 33 - Farrier

    Rating: 0

    Go up steeply to a slab. A groove at its left-hand side veers right to short cracks, the left-hand of which leads to a ledge and a crack above to finish.

  • 34 - Hand-loom Weaver

    Rating: 0

    A second bay six metres to the right has a wall which is climbed to a nose of natural rock. Pass this on the left and follow the slab above to join Farrier at its two cracks. Finish up the right-hand crack.

  • 35 - Pitch 1

    Follow Hand-loom Weaver to the nose. Pass this on the right and climb the slab above to a ledge at the right of the buttress. Go left to a gangway and up left to a crack which leads, with care, to the finish of Hand-loom Weaver.
