The Pinnacle

  • 39 - Weakling`s Wall

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: (1974-75)
    Rating: 0

Swing in from the extreme right to gain a good hold on the overhanging wall. Move up strenuously to a ledge and finish more easily.

  • 39a - The Crankies

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: Pre-1996)
    Rating: 0

Start from the block at the foot of The Crank. Move up and right to the deep rightwards leading flake crack.

  • 40 - The Crank

    Grade: 6b | First Ascent: -1982
    Rating: 1

A good steep problem up the wall right of The Graunch. Start from a block on the ground and climb the bulging wall above.

  • 41 - The Graunch

    Grade: 4c | First Ascent: -1968
    Rating: 1

This is the clean, deep crack, with a surprisingly awkward start. The upper part can be climbed quite elegantly, or as befits the rather odd but fairly clear name, it`s up to you!

  • 41a - The Rill

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: (Pre-1996)
    Rating: 0

Climb onto the ledge just left of The Graunch. Climb the shallow groove/leaning rib.

  • 41b - Fast Twitch

    Grade: 5a | First Ascent: -2000
    Rating: 0

Climb the steep, wrinkled wall from the ledge immediately right of Muscles Crack.

  • 42 - Muscles Crack

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: -1968
    Rating: 0

The sharp, bulging crack three metres left. The top block is an optional extra!

  • 43 - The Monkey`s Paw

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1995
    Rating: 1

The undercut arĂȘte immediately to the left is climbed directly from the cave.

  • 44 - Bumble Bee

    Grade: 4a | First Ascent: (1974-75)
    Rating: 0

A decidedly strange route from the cave at the left side of the pinnacle. Climb the wide left-slanting crack and make an awkward bridging move out on to the face. Finish more normally.
