Great Cave Area

  • 4 - Space Slab

    Grade: 4c | First Ascent: (1965-76)
    Rating: 1

The left arête of the square-cut recess, some 50 metres before the Great Cave, forms a hanging slab. Start on its left and climb to an overlap, then step right on to the slab and climb this in a pleasant position.

  • 5 - Zing

Grade: | First Ascent: (Early 1960s)
    Rating: 0

From just below the left side of the Great Cave, move left on to the wall, then climb this, trending right on small holds.

  • 6 - Fossil Crack

Grade: | First Ascent: (Early 1960s)
    Rating: 0

The arête below the crack on the left side of the Great Cave, then finish up the top crack.

  • 7 - Eponychial Retreat

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1982
    Rating: 0

This route has become considerably harder since a loose block at mid-height was removed. Start 15 metres right of the Great Cave and climb the left arête of the next buttress, with a hard move above a poor block at mid-height.

  • 8 - Cuticle Crack

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1959
    Rating: 2

An interesting start, which has defeated many and some will also wish that it relented a bit sooner above this. Start three metres right and climb the prominent, undercut flake.

  • 9 - Legs

    Grade: 6a | First Ascent: -1981
    Rating: 1

Start as for Cuticle Crack, but move out right just above the bulge to gain the arête. Finish up this. Short, but bold, with a nasty landing.

  • 10 - Dwarf

    Grade: | First Ascent: (1965-76)
    Rating: 0

The oft-damp corner to the right.
