Windy Wall area

  • 69 - Hangover Edge

    Climb the overhanging left arête of Windy Wall on improving holds. Despite being relatively short, this climb gives an unexpected feeling of exposure.

  • 70 - Windy Wall

    Grade: 4a | First Ascent: (Pre-1965)
    Rating: 2

    A similar, though slightly easier climb up the face a metre to the right, gives steep wall climbing on good holds.

  • 71 - The Swinger

    Start four metres left of the obvious corner in the centre of the next buttress. Go up the wall to the overhang, then hand-traverse left and finish up the edge of the buttress.

  • 72 - Celtic

    Follow The Swinger to where that route traverses left, then finish directly over the stepped overhangs.

  • 73 - Kletterschuhe Capers

    Take a fairly direct line up the wall three metres left of the corner, past a large block near the top and a slight deviation left at mid-height. The line can be straightened out at HVS, 5a.

  • 74 - Coffin Corner

    This follows the obvious corner. Go up the chimney to The Coffin, then swing right to reach good holds and continue more easily.

  • 75 - Route 1

    Climb the overhanging wall and arête just right of Coffin Corner.

  • 76 - Route 2

    Climb the steep wall three metres farther right.

  • 77 - Blind Buttress

    Start just right of Route 2 and climb the left side of a thin slab on to the face, past two large `eye-sockets`.
