Orange Wall

  • 54 - Barbecue

    Climb directly to the ledge halfway up Rappel Wall, then finish up the poor crack above, just to the right of Rappel Wall.

  • 1 - Twin Cracks

    The corner left of the chimney is gained from the left, then the parallel cracks are climbed direct.

    Gain the large ledge just to the right, then climb the blunt arĂȘte finishing on the right.

    Climb the arĂȘte which requires a dodgy heel hook.

  • 4 - Zee

    Grade: 4a | First Ascent: (1974-7)

    Just left of Great Chimney. Layback the loose crack.

    The wide chimney on the left of the wall, finishing to the left at the capstone.

    The wall right of Great Chimney can be climbed by several ways.

  • 7 - Orange Crack

    Grade: 4a | First Ascent: -1963

    The jamming crack on the right side of the wall, which forms the left side of a leaning pedestal. Cracked Orange (HVS, 5a): takes a somewhat artificial line up the wall immediately left of the crack.

    The crack which forms the right side of the pedestal.

  • 9 - Orange Groove

    The right-slanting chimney just right, very popular.

  • 10 - Monolith Crack

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: -1963
    Rating: 0

    Just to the right is a half-ship-shaped monolith. Climb to a good hold and thus the right crack of the monolith. Finish up the steep wall above.

  • 11 - Cedric

    Grade: 4a | First Ascent: (Pre-1967)

    Four metres left of the corner, follow the stepped groove.

  • 12 - Orange Squash

    Grade: 6a | First Ascent: -1981
    Rating: 0

    Start midway between Cedric and Orange Corner. A hard start gains an obvious undercut at three metres, and the ledges of Cedric on the left. Move back right on to the wall and climb it by a steep crack.

  • 13 - Orange Corner

    The corner which limits the wall on its right. Often muddy.
