The Amphitheatre

  • 63 - Zoot Chute

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: -1976
    Rating: 2

A pleasant route that covers some impressive ground for its grade. Climb the recessed slab, then move right across a large ledge and finish up the wall above (peg).

  • 64 - Windchill

    Grade: 4b | First Ascent: -1976
    Rating: 0

Climb the short corner on the left, then step right to a green groove, and go up this to an awkward exit.

  • 65 - Spindrift

    Grade: 4c | First Ascent: -1996
    Rating: 0

Start as for Windchill, but continue directly up the crack through the bulge until a jug on the right arĂȘte can be reached, then finish easily.

  • 66 - Saffron

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1996
    Rating: 0

The wall to the left is tackled via the crack system about two metres to the right of a section of orange rock at half-height.

  • 67 - Amphitheatre Terrace

    Grade: | First Ascent: -1976
    Rating: 0

The obvious terrace which splits the back wall from right to left.

  • 68 - Life During Wartime

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1981
    Rating: 0

Follow Amphitheatre Terrace to the grassy bay (old peg), then climb up and right on large holds until a traverse right can be made to the base of a thin crack. Finish up this.

  • 69 - Bob Bandits

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1987
    Rating: 0

Left of the start of Amphitheatre Terrace. Climb the obvious off-width crack in the wall.

  • 70 - Fathomathon

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1987
    Rating: 0

Start just to the left and climb the wall to a good though doubtful jug, then make an `all-out-mega-span` and climb direct to join Amphitheatre Terrace.

  • 71 - Brittle-Fingers

    Grade: 5b | First Ascent: -1987
    Rating: 0

Left again, climb the crack to gain the bottomless groove. Pass this and finish up the arĂȘte above on its left-hand side.
