Liqueur Wall

  • 105 - Ouzo

    Start three metres left of the easy way down the short end wall, and follow an easy line of ledges left to finish up Strega.

  • 106 - Strega

    Start in the corner on the left which contains two overhangs, and climb the wall just right of this corner.

  • 107 - Drunk for a Penny

    Start up a thin crack three metres right of the corner and climb the wall directly to the terrace.

  • 108 - Advocaat

    Climb the corner to the terrace at nine metres, then move right for two metres and climb to the top via a series of three strenuous mantels.

  • 109 - Chartreuse

    Climb the corner of Advocaat to the terrace, then step left and continue to a higher ledge on the right. Finish more easily.

  • 110 - Grand Marnier

    Climb the corner of Advocaat to the terrace, then traverse left to the arête and climb this.

  • 111 - Wilt the Stilt

    Climb the arête left of the corner and finish up Grand Marnier.

  • 112 - Crème de Menthe

    A fine line up the next corner, passing four overhangs.

  • 113 - Curaçao

    Climb the groove two metres left, to a peg below the capping overhang. Move up and right to a small ledge, and from the right of this continue with difficulty, until at nine metres a good flake handhold ends the difficulties. Finish more easily, passing the final overhang on the left.

    Gain an obvious slot at three metres, then continue with difficulty past a peg to gain the final flake crack on The Effect of Alcohol and finish up this.

  • 115 - The Effect of Alcohol

    Climb the deep corner, with a fallen pedestal below it, to the roof. Move right under the roof and finish up the thin layback crack.

  • 116 - Winston Groovy

    From the foot of Effects of Alcohol, move awkwardly left round the arête, then climb the wall on sloping holds and a thin crack above (peg) to a small ledge. Move right and finish up the centre of the wall above the roof.

  • 117 - Stickman

    Grade: 6c | First Ascent: -1991

    A direct line up the central wall. Climb past a detached-looking block to the obvious horizontal break at two-thirds-height (peg). Make a hard move from this, using an undercut and thin edges, to reach an obvious jug below the large ledge. Finish up Kümmel.

    In the centre of Liqueur Wall is a deep corner; climb this past a large ledge to an even larger ledge at its top. From the right of this ledge climb up a prominent flake then finish easily.

  • 119 - Trappistine Finish

    From the second large ledge on Kümmel, step back left across the corner and finish up a slim corner above.

    From the second large ledge on Kümmel, step back left across the corner and continue leftwards until it is possible to finish up the left-hand corner.

  • 121 - Benedictine

    Grade: 5c | First Ascent: (1968/1978)

    Start three metres to the left and climb cracks to a ledge, then step right and climb the crack which bounds the overhang on its right, until a step left can be made on to the wall above the overhang. Finish direct.

  • 122 - Intoxicated

    A serious undertaking. The striking arête on the left, with a peg in Maraschino.

  • 123 - Maraschino

    A good-looking line, which lives up to expectations. The thin crack which splits the narrow wall on the left. At three-quarters-height move right, then finish up the arête.

  • 123a - Direct Finish

    From the top of the crack, continue up a series of breaks to the top. A worthy alternative to the normal finish.

  • 124 - Tia Maria

    The deep, orange corner on the left of Liqueur Wall.

  • 125 - In the Pink

    Takes the crack between Tia Maria and Cirrhosis. Start up the crack three metres left of Tia Maria to the right side of a large ledge and climb the crack in the leaning wall above.

  • 126 - Cirrhosis

    Farther left is a short arête leading to a large ledge. Climb the crack on the right of this to the ledge, just below a groove which forms the right side of a pointed tower. Climb this groove to the top (in-situ peg).

  • 127 - Goldwasser

    Climb the short, thin groove on the left of the arête to the ledge. From the right-hand side of this ledge, follow a right-leaning ramp to the top.

  • 128 - Sloe Gin

    Start at the extreme left, below a large square-cut recess. Gain the recess and exit on the right to a large ledge. Traverse right then climb the obvious corner.

  • 128a - Pastis

    From the recess, exit left to the ledge. Ascend a groove and go diagonally rightwards to the top section of Sloe Gin.

    Ascend Strega for a couple of metres, then traverse left under the second overhang, and continue at this level to Crème de Menthe. Surmount the overhang above, then go diagonally left to a small ledge just left of the top of The Effect of Alcohol. Traverse along this until it is possible to drop down to a large ledge on Kümmel. Step left on to another ledge and belay on the left side of this.

  • 129.2 - Pitch 2

    Tension left to the arête, then go round this to the deep corner. Ascend the corner to a horizontal crack which leads to the base of the ramp of Goldwasser, then finish up this.
